Film Screening "The Hudson: A River at Risk"
Nyack Center

Jon Bowermaster's Hudson River at Risk

Join us in a screening of Jon Bowermaster’s trio of mini-documentaries — powerful vignettes of the risks facing our beloved river — at the Nyack Center on December 8.

Bowermaster chronicles three prominent threats to the Hudson and our public safety

  • The boom in crude oil transportation on the river and by rail
  • The problematic Indian Point nuclear plant
  • The impact of the Tappan Zee Bridge replacement.

The event is free to the public.

Following the film, a panel will answer audience questions regarding these threats to our area’s water and our public safety. Other topics for discussion include pipeline expansion in the Lower Hudson Valley, GE and the clean-up of toxic PCBs, and the safety and integrity of our drinking water supplies.

Panel participants:
Jon Bowermaster, Writer/Director and Moderator
David Carlucci, New York State Senator
Paul Gallay, Riverkeeper President
Laurie Seeman, Rockland Water Coalition
Susan Van Dolsen, Community and Environmental Activist
