Riverkeeper Boat Captain John Lipscomb will share his deep knowledge of the Hudson with television meteorologist Storm Field in this dynamic discussion on the river.

When: Monday, May 2, 7:00 pm
Where: Irvington Public Library, 12 South Astor Street, Irvington, NY

Lipscomb grew up in Irvington and Tarrytown, learning to swim and sail in the Hudson River. He has sailed as Captain aboard a number of 30’ to 65’ blue water sailing vessels, and completed three Trans Atlantic crossings and one Trans-Pacific crossing.

A passionate advocate for the River and life in it, he patrols the Hudson from New York Harbor to Troy, logging 4,000 to 5,000 nautical miles a year on the 36-foot wooden vessel R. Ian Fletcher to identify and deter polluters, support science research and educate the public.
